The small antenna and compact design of the below-deck trans-ceiver unit make installation of the mini-M convenient for a large variety of vessels, from the mega yacht up to the biggest super tanker. The mini-M is operated from the handset just like a normal telephone, from the two-wire DTMF phone interface, connected fax machine, or data port through Hayes AT command sets. The two-way tracking antenna is only 21 cm in diameter and 23 cm high,and can be mounted up to 70 meters away from the below-decktransceiver unit.
The below-deck transceiver unit offers a wide range of auxiliary inputs and outputs, e.g. for a remote bell and for ignition control of power on. The flexible design of the handset/cradle unit allows easy access to fax, auxiliary phone, and data connections. The configuration possibilities include locked telephone number directory service as well as call log possibilities.
